Situated almost an hour’s drive away from Victoria Falls lies one of Botswana’s best kept gems, The Chobe National Park. Popularly known for its largest population of elephants in the world this small park offers a real safari experience. Offering the best of both worlds your Chobe Day trip offers you a safari both on land and on water. Not only does the park boast of its large elephant herds, Chobe is home to some of the largest prides of lions in Southern Africa.
A birding paradise this day trip is worth the memory on your cameras. This trip starts early morning from Victoria Falls or Livingstone with an hour long transfer to Botswana,
When you get to Chobe your first activity is a boat cruise on the Chobe River and chance encounters with elephants crossing the river into the Sedudu Island and hippos grazing along the river banks or giving you a full on show inside the water. With close to 500 bird species in the Chobe the boat cruise offers you a truly fantastic birding experience.
After the 3 hour game cruise we will break for a scrumptious lunch and the embark on a 3 hour game drive in the Chobe National Park. This is the time we usually see the big game making way to the river and general spotting of lions leisurely and lazily taking a break under the much needed shade watching their next meal.
After the game drive we bid farewell to our hosts for the day and embark on a transfer back to Victoria Falls or Livingstone.
